Free QR code generator with Wi-Fi and contact cards

Type a link, Wi-Fi details or contact info and download a print-ready PNG or SVG. Static codes that never expire, made right in your browser.

Runs in your browser. Nothing you enter or open is uploaded.

QR code type

Made in your browser and works offline once the page has loaded. A static code that never expires; the content and your Wi-Fi password never touch our servers.

Your QR code

Encoded content

The short answer

Pick a type (website, Wi-Fi, text, phone, email or contact card), fill it in and download the code. These are static QR codes: the content is stored in the pattern itself, so they never expire and keep working even if this site disappears. Dynamic codes route through a redirect link that can stop when a subscription ends.

How it is calculated

A Wi-Fi QR code holds text in this format: WIFI:T:WPA;S:network name;P:password;;

T is the security type, S the network name, P the password, and H:true marks a hidden network. The characters \ ; , " : are escaped with a backslash.

Worked example

An Airbnb host wants a sign by the door so guests can join the Wi-Fi without typing. Network: Maple-Guest, password: summer-porch-42, WPA2.

  1. Choose Wi-Fi and type the network name and password exactly, capitals included.
  2. The tool encodes: WIFI:T:WPA;S:Maple-Guest;P:summer-porch-42;;
  3. If the name had a semicolon, like Cafe;Guest, it is escaped for you: WIFI:T:WPA;S:Cafe\;Guest;P:pass\:1;;
  4. Download a PNG for a quick printout, or an SVG for a design file that scales to any size.

Guests point the phone camera at the sign and tap Join, with no password typing

Special cases and common mistakes

  • Static vs dynamic. Many generators hand you a "dynamic" code that points to their own short link, then ask for a subscription after a trial and the printed code stops working. Codes made here are static: the content is in the image, so they work as long as your link does.
  • Error correction: level L survives about 7% damage, M 15%, Q 25% and H 30%. Use Q or H for stickers that will get scratched or dirty; higher levels make the code denser.
  • Do not invert the colors. Many phone cameras cannot read a light code on a dark background. Keep the code dark on a light background with a white margin around it (the tool adds the standard 4-module quiet zone).
  • Google reviews or wedding photo albums: copy the share link from Google or your photo app, choose Website and paste it. The QR code works as long as that link does.

Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static: the link or text is encoded in the pattern, not routed through our servers, so there is nothing to expire and no account to keep paying for.

How do I make a QR code for my Wi-Fi?

Choose Wi-Fi, enter the network name and password exactly as they appear, and pick WPA for most modern routers (it covers WPA2 and WPA3). The password never leaves your browser.

Should I download PNG or SVG?

PNG is a ready-made image for email, slides and everyday printing. SVG is a vector file that scales to any size without blur, which print shops prefer for signs and banners.

Can I change the link after printing?

Not with a static code, because the link is part of the image. If you expect to change it, print a link on your own website that you can later redirect.

What size should a printed QR code be?

Bigger codes scan from farther away. Keep the quiet zone, use high contrast, and test-scan the printed proof with two different phones before printing a batch.

Can I make a QR code with my logo?

Not in this tool yet. Logos cover part of the code and rely on error correction to stay readable, so if you add one in a design app, choose level H here first and test it.
