The short answer

Choose the PDF statement you downloaded from your bank’s app or website, and the transactions appear in a table: date, description, debit, credit and balance. We check that each balance equals the previous one plus credits minus debits, and highlight rows that do not. Click any cell to fix it, then download Excel or CSV. Nothing is uploaded.

How it is calculated

How it reads a statement: it takes every word on the page with its position, groups words into lines, and finds the columns from the header row (Date, Description, Withdrawals, Deposits, Balance). A line that starts with a date is a new transaction; a line under it without a date continues its description.

Cleaning up: "(45.00)" or "45.00 DR" become debits, "1.250,50" becomes 1250.5, and dates become 2026-10-05. Dates printed without a year (like 10/02) take the year from the statement period.

The check: previous balance + credits − debits = balance. Both oldest-first and newest-first statements are checked.

Worked example

Emily wants her October statement in a spreadsheet to sort her spending:

  1. She downloads the PDF from her bank’s website and picks it here.
  2. The transactions show up in a table with a green note: all balances add up.
  3. One transfer’s description ran over two lines; the table already joined them into one cell.

She clicks Download Excel and gets real dates and numbers she can sum and filter.

Special cases and common mistakes

  • Password-protected statements open here once you type the password, all on your device.
  • Scanned statements (photos or image-only PDFs) are not supported yet. Download the PDF from your bank’s app or website instead.
  • Highlighted rows are where balances do not add up, usually a split description or an amount in the wrong column. Merge the row with the one above (⤒) or swap the debit and credit columns.
  • Nothing from your statement is sent anywhere: no amounts, no names. We only count whether a conversion worked.
