Name ideas

The short answer

Type one or two words that describe your business, like coffee or maple. The generator builds names from them with proven patterns: a prefix such as get or my, a suffix such as hub or ly, a blend of both words, or a shortened spelling. It checks .com for each name automatically; click a name to check other extensions.

How it is calculated

Every name is built from your own words with patterns real brands use:

  • prefix + word: get, try, my, go
  • word + modern suffix: ly, ify, hub, lab
  • word + classic suffix: co, studio, house, works
  • two words joined, or half of one blended with half of the other
  • vowels dropped for a shorter name

Then the official .com registry is asked about each one.

Worked example

A café owner types “maple coffee” with the All style.

  1. The generator builds 76 names from the two words
  2. The first ones shown: maplecoffeeco, meetcoffee, maplehq, coffeehub, coffeehouse, gomaple
  3. Each name shows whether its .com is available or taken

Special cases and common mistakes

  • Before you commit: search the USPTO (or the Canadian trademarks database) to make sure the name isn’t a registered trademark, and check that the social handles are free.

Frequently asked questions

How do I come up with a business name?

Start with one or two words about what you do, try a few styles, and shortlist names that are short, easy to spell and have a free .com.

Can I use these names for free?

Yes. Just make sure the name isn’t someone else’s registered trademark before you use it.

What does “.com taken” mean?

Someone already owns that .com. Click the name to check other extensions, or press More ideas.

Does this use AI?

No. Names are built from your words with fixed patterns, right in your browser, and your words aren’t sent anywhere.
